Sounds Good
One of the first seeds of performance that was ever planted into my head as a child was by reading outloud to groups. Kind of like when the teacher would ask you to read what was on page 10 to the class. I was good at it and I knew it because I would always get asked to do it, whether it be in class, at family gatherings, or at church (back when I used to go on more of a regular basis).
This led to one of my high school teachers telling me I read very well and should try out for plays. And the rest, as they say, is history.
(Well, there's slightly more to it then that, but that's a tale for another day.)
Anyway, two days ago, I did some voice work for some tourism thing with Parks Canada. The guy had never heard me read or seen me perform before, but he was on a tight deadline and needed someone in French, so he took a chance. And I think it paid off.
I really like doing voice work. I find it fun, which is why I had no problem volunteering my time with Remote Planet. But I felt really good when we were done and he said that I had a crystal clear voice that one would not get tired of hearing (insert your own snarky remark here). He also let me know that there is a lot of voice work out there for bilingual females and that he would definately like to work with me again.
I for one would really like to see something pan out from this.
