Sometimes, It Pays To Go To Work
I spent another fun night last night wrangling extras for an overnight shoot. And no, I am not being sarcastic. I really do enjoy being on set, even if it happens to be until close to four in the morning.
Plus, you never know who you might end up talking to. Alot of the crew members, and even some of the extras, produce their own films. Last night, one guy offered me a part strait up in a short film he's doing in January/February. It's a horror and I survive (leaving my character available for the feature he wishes to develop off the short). Then another guy told me that he was helping a friend go through submissions for a film he's doing. I guess I had submitted myself for that project and he flagged my headshot as someone to see for an audition. In addition, this guy is also doing his own short film and he wants me to come in for an audition next week.
Now, I don't want to get my hopes up because I have been signed on to projects in the past where nothing came of it (like that one time that will now simply be known as "The Incident"), but it is incredibly nice to think that I might actually be doing some work in the near future.
