Is "I didn't know" a Good Excuse?

Not if you're the GCTC.

Thanks to a fellow performer's blog, I found out that the GCTC has announced it's new season and will be holding general auditions.

Knowing that I don't have that much of a chance, but willing to give it a shot nonetheless, I check out their website.

Guess when the deadline was to apply?

March 15th

So I call the GCTC's office manager (blatantly ignoring their "no phone calls, please" request) and ask if it would still be worth my time to send something in.

"Yes," she says, "but at this point it would just fall under unsolicited materials."

Translation: It will get filed under "G" for garbage.

And I had even checked last month and saw that they weren't accepting new submissions. What the hell kinda time fram did they give people?

I think I'm still going to send something in anyway. I had also sent a package to the NAC last month. Maybe I should send them another one too?

Then again, I'd probably just get another one of these:

"Preference will be given to Equity performers currently living in or from the Ottawa region."

Add that to my list of reasons why I'm depressed aobut not being a Union member.
