Super Stardom - Just a Hop Skip and a Jump Away
Well yesterday I got to meet the other main actors in the film (it's called Antinomy, btw) and we read through the script for the first time. It was a very cool experience. The director let us know that he wants to send this movie off to the Toronto International Film Festival. He also let us know that he will be placing high value on production quality, which was very reassuring. The script is fantastic, but it could be a total flop if it's not done right.
I'm also excited to find out that they have a makeup artist, which means I won't have to do my own. That was a big load off my back. You see, it's very easy for me to do my own makeup for everyday or going out. I can also do a pretty good job at stage makeup. But film? That's a completely different story. Too many close ups and angles and lights to keep track of. I'd probably end up looking washed out or splotchy if I did it myself. The other guys in the cast were also relieved when they heard they didn't have to do their own makeup either. Hee, boys and their innability to understand makeup :p
After hearing that it will be sent to TIFF, and that the director hopes that it will be picke dup by a major distribution company, one of the other actors and I started talking about a defered payment agreement. If this thing is a success, I definately do not want to get nothing in return. Besides, I have a wellness guru to pay (Hi Lucas!).

I also had my first day at the new job today. It's kind of exciting, but it's definately been making me realize how acting is really what I want to do. Oh well, this is only for a year and will help me pay off my student loan.
Until then, who knows, maybe come this September I will be walking down the red carpet pretending to sound interested in what Ben Mulroney has to say.
A girl can dream can't she?
;)
*EDIT* I just looked up the submission regulations for TIFF and it says films should have been sent in by mid-May. Maybe I misunderstood and he meant that it was for next September? More on that when I look into it.
*EDIT 2* Never mind, invited films need to be in before August 15th. My bad.
