So you want to be an actor?

Everything's Coming Up Milhouse!

Well, I just heard back from that audition where one of the guys thought I sounded like Drew Barrymore. The movie is about these four guys who are just so desperate for money, but too damn lazy to do anything legit about it that they decide to rob a bank. The script is really cool and is strongly influenced by such films as Scarface, Heat and Reservoir Dogs. I auditioned for the girlfriend of one of the four guys, a very minor principal role.

So I get an email

"We really liked you for the part of Bernadette, but..."

Oh here goes, I thought, I'm going to be playing one of the tellers at the bank or a receptionist.

"...we would like you to play Hindel instead."

What?

Well guess what, I got a part, but not the one I auditioned for. They actually want me to be one of the guys who wants to rob the bank!!! They felt that there were no defined characteristics in the part that needed a male to play it and they think it would be much fresher and original if played by a girl. So not only did I audition for a minor role and get one of the leads, they are touching up the role so that it can be played by a girl!!!

Wow!

And here I thought I might be entering a slump.

  • Kick Ass!

Our little Nancy's all growns up!

Seriously, congratulations Nance, I wish you all the best with it. Make sure they let you smack guys around and cap people, all the while looking tough and sexy, cos that's a sure-fire start to fame. But please, if they ask, don't cut a guy's ear off while grooving to Stealer's Wheel, because A) it's already been done, and B) it still gives me the willies. Ick.

I just skimmed over your entire blog, and caught myself up on the life of Nancy - I'm really happy to see you're doing so well. I wish you all the best.

  • Don't forget my Brad Pitt lookalike when you make it big with this movie...

I'll be anxiously awaiting my hunky boy-toy. ;)

    Congrats of course!

    Luv,
    Karyn
