Ruined
Getting a degree in theatre has utterly ruined me. I can no longer sit back and watch a play or, to a lesser extent, a movie without becoming overly critical of it. I can immediately pick out weaknesses in the choices made by the actors or the director and this irks me to no end. This is because throuughout my time in University, I was thought to analyze every aspect of a production. Unfortunately, this mantra was so well learned that I find it hard now to simply enjoy the show.
There's a joke I heard once, how many actors does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Two. One to screw it in, and the other to sit by and say: "I could have done better than that."
Wow, I sound all snooty and superior. I mean, what do I know? I'm not better than the people involved in the production. I hate critics, therefore why become one?
That's a lie. I hate critics but, like every other actor, I long for their approval. :p

I'm going to go to bed.
