Frustration
So you want to be an actor? Learn to deal with frustration. Frustration comes in many forms. For example, there is the frustration of the unknown. When you go to an audition and don't get the part, there are many reasons affecting their choice that are absolutely out of your control. (see Joanna Merlin's book entitles Auditioning for almost two pages worth of reasons.)
I am currently experiencing the frustration of envy. The "why them and not me" syndrome. All these people I know are getting these awesome, paying gigs and I must admit that the green-eyed monster of jealousy has somewhat reared its ugly head. It's kind of annoying but I am moving on. You have to keep persevering. The other thing is, these people all have agents and I don't (which is another rant in itself -see below).
Man, I hope people don't think I'm this frustrated and jaded all the time. Cuz I'm not. This just happens to be a great forum in which to vent and I like taking that opportunity :p
