You Like Me, You Really Like Me!
On Saturday, March 17, in front of a crowd of approximately 20 to 30 people, I held a staged reading of my first play, Reality Check as part of a fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis research. It was nerve-wracking, it was exciting, and it was way better than I could have expected.
It was pretty loud in the Agora as people milled about chatting and whatnot. But when we started the read, you could feel them all quiet down and pay attention.
And they laughed! They actually thought what I wrote was funny!
I can't tell you how great it felt to hear the words I had written being spoken out loud, to have them take a life of their own, to have them be appreciated by an attentive audience.
