So you want to be an actor?

What Happens Now?

After years of talking about it, the University of Ottawa has finally bought the old Algonquin Campus at 200 Lees. For those of you who are regulars in the Ottawa film scene, 200 Lees has been serving as home to the production companies that keep bringing in various Movies of the Week (MOW). Those production companies have now been asked to "vacate the premises".

I'm just wondering where that, along with the ACTRA strike, is going to leave the professional film and television community in Ottawa.

Discuss.

  • I thought that the ground there was contaminated?

I can't believe how much the university has grown already since we started there in '99.

Sorry, I know you wanted to discuss the state of the professional film and television community in ottawa, but I don't have much to say on that realm. But....they should hire you as a Union member as soon as the strike is over! You can tell them I said that. ;)

  • The ground still is contaminated, but I guess, if I read the article correctly, they're dealing with it.

Dear ACTRA, Karyn said you should let me join your club.

    Love,
