Kicking Resistances Ugly Butt
I had an audition tonight and I felt great about it!
As I sat in the hallway waiting my turn, I slowly got out of my suit (those of you in Michele's class know what I'm talking about). I caught my reflection in the portrait accross from me.
Well hello, gorgeous!
I know my lines. I could do them in my sleep.
It's my turn.
I'm ready. I'm happy.
I chat for a bit. I take my time. There's no need to rush. I own this audition.
I do my thing.
The director's happy. He has no redirect. He starts searching for other stuff for me to read. He didn't bring anything. He pulls out his laptop and starts scrolling. He hands it to me.
Read this scene. We'll be right back.
No problem, I hear myself say.
Time goes by.
Two minutes... Three minutes... Five...
They're back.
I'm good to go, I say.
They ask if I need to hang on to the laptop somehow.
Nope.
I silently praise whatever God/Muse/Divine Spirit who granted me the ability to memorize at an incredibly fast pace.
It was great. I was great. I am great.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go pick up my own laptop. I have a Fringe application to hand in tomorrow and a few scripts to write.
Boom!
Resistance goes down for today
