A picture worth a thousand words

As an actor, your headshot is your biggest and most important calling card. It's therefore important to get yourself a good one. A bunch of people I know have been going down to Toronto to see this really amazing photographer.

However, amzing = $$$ (400$ for the shoot, 125$ hair and makeup, x$ for a trip to Toronto, ect.)

So, since I am just starting out "professionally", I know this guy in Ottawa who will be able to do them for me for 200$. I can go to the mall and get my makeup done for about 30$ in product and my hair for about 40$. After taking a good look at his portfolio, I noticed that he had some very good, very clear and natural looking shots. After speaking with my agent and my mom (my financial manager ;)), I agreed to go with this guy. I need some headshots pretty quickly so that my agent can start sending them out, and he does some really good work, so hopefully everything will work out. The shoot will be this Saturday. If anyone wants to see the proofs, send me an msn after Saturday. You could help me pick the best one.

Anyway, the way I see it, actors change their headshots on a pretty regular basis, so I might eventually go to this guy in Toronto. But I think I'll wait until I start making some money.
