LaBute on the Brain
So Neil LaBute has been on my mind alot lately. Watching rehearsals for Fat Pig, I would discover so many layers in his words that had me completely and utterly captivated. Recently, I've started buying more of his plays. Then last night, when discussing possible shows for Evolution Theatre to produce, I rumaged through Chris and Linda's play library to find The Shape of Things. I borrowed it and went home. Once home, I turned on the TV and what do I find? IFC is airing the movie version of The Shape of Things. The nerd in me followed along with the play. It was interesting to see some of the differences between the film and stage versions.
I wonder in what other ways LaBute is going to infiltrate himself into my life. I get the feeling it's not over yet.
