Somehow, some people seem to think that I have a fairly big readership and would like me to advertise stuff for them. Since I have a lot of trouble intergrating HTML coding into my blog, I can't confirm or disprove that thought with statistics, but I am always willing to help (At least for now. If it turns out I do have a pretty big readership, then I'll start charging. I could be the Perez Hilton of the Ottawa entertainment industry. and if you don't know who Perez Hilton is, trust me, you're not missing much).
So without further ado, here are some things that I believe you should check out:
ON THE LOT
First up, Claudia has entered her short film A Buck Ten into the reality show competition for On the Lot. This show is produced by Mark Burnett (Survivor) and Steven Spielberg. A million dollar development deal is at stake.
I worked on A Buck Ten and it is a great little film which showcases a bunch of Ottawa actors and local talent. Claudia has been working day and night to get the film selected for the show and she's been doing well. However, some people have been getting their films viewed since October so she needs all the help she can get.
You can help her out by going to the website and viewing the film (so easy), leaving a comment (even easier), and checking out her blog.
TAX TIME
Well, it's just about that time of year again. My sister, Debbie, is a wiz when it comes to this kind of stuff. She managed to get me more money back from the government last year by going back through my returns from a few years back. If you need help with your taxes, she can definately be there for you. She is currently located in Alberta, but does everything online. You can email her at office@aggregatefinancial.com
Her rates are as follows:
Seniors, students and low-income* earners $29.95+tax
Average income earners $59.95+tax
Couples $99.95+tax
Unincorporated business returns $184.95+tax and up
*low-income consists of net income under $25,000
She can be a great help to all you self-employed artists out there since she already has experience doing my taxes.
