Why You Leave for an Audition Early...

I got lost.

I didn't mean to get lost, but whenever I have to drive somewhere I've never been to before, I innevitably get lost.

I left the house at 6pm for my 7pm audition. The mapquest directions told me it would take about 14 minutes to get there.

I've been screwed over by mapquest before, so I left early.

Good thing too. Mapquest doesn't tell you that Wellington becomes Richmond rd, which is what I was looking for. I drove around in circles and was saved by a phone call.

I made it to my audition with 5 minutes to spare.

Phew!

They had me prepare two scenes for my audition. When I got there, they gave me a different one altogether. I was cool with that though. I always prefer a cold read to a prepared piece. That way I don't have time to get any "clever ideas" about the scene.

We'll hear on Sunday, either way, about the results.

On a side note, you know the theatre community in Ottawa is small when the entire principal cast for a show you've done in the past is at the same audition.
