So you've decided not to change the name of this blog
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for your insight and support, either through this blog or on msn, with regards to the difficult decision I've had to make. And as you can probably guess from the title of this blog, I've made it. I shall not be applying for another job at the University of Ottawa.
It feels really good and yet really scary saying that.
My mom was sorta disappointed at first, but after a talk, she realized that this was something that I just have to do now or else I would regret it for the rest of my life. It also helped that I pointed out the sensible budget I had set up for myself by saving a lump sum off of every paycheck I now make.
Honestly, my reasons for doing this can easily be summed up in the wonderful comments that were left in the last post. Words like "slippery slope" and "no major responsibilities" really stuck in my head.
But do you want to know what really put me over the edge and solidified my decision? (Well I'm going to tell you anyway.)
That callback I had last Friday? I got cast. As the lead.
Damn, I must be doing something right.
So there ya go. I'm really doing this. As of April 26th, 2006 I'm a free woman and an Actor with a capital A.
And if things don't work out, I hear Kris is pretty good at fundraising. Maybe he could help me collect the salary I would have made had I gotten the job. I'm sure Nat and Emily would be more than happy to help.
:p

I am so so so incredibly excited for you. And for me too. I'm really looking forward to working with you! I could barely contain myself when Chris was talking to you and offering you the part. It's so important to be able to look back with no regrets, and I'm sure you'll be happy with your decision!
