I Will Not Get Sick! I Will Not Get Sick!
For the past month or so, the entire cast and crew of Possible Worlds, with the exception of myself and the director, have been terribly sick (which is odd since both our significant others have been sick). Quite a few rehearsals had been cancelled due to that fact. Mine, however had still been going on since most of my scenes are with one guy who had managed to keep any germs at bay... that is until this weekend.
Chris (the actor, not the director) has now gotten violently ill and I had two rehearsals cancelled because of it since neither Chris (the director) nor myself want to get sick this close to show time.
I know it would be very easy for me to get sick right now, what with the germ patrol that seems to surround me. I've been waking up these last couple of mornings with that slightly sicky feeling getting stronger and stronger (sore throat, running nose in the morning, chills - maybe it's the weather?, ect...) I've decided to take a proactive approach though. Since Darcy was sick, we've got quite a variety of cold medicine at home. I've been taking stuff in the morning to get rid of the running nose and something at night to help me sleep comfortably. The vitamin supplements have also come out. I know I should be eating better as well, but when I end up spending my days running around from work/rehearsal/project of the day, it's been hard. Add to that the fact that I am fully and completely broke (to the point where I'm filling the shampoo bottle with water to get that last little bit out and having to cancel plans to go see shows because I can't afford tickets), and I can't exactly get something healthy on the go. Hell, I can't even get something healthy at home since I haven't had the time or money to get groceries.
sigh
It's time to make that compromise with my body again. Fellow artist will know which one I'm talking about. The one where you manage to convince your body that if it will just get me through the next couple of weeks without incident, I will give it all the time it needs to get sick and feel better.
Of course, by then, I'll probably be working on some new project... but shhh! Don't tell my body that, ok?

t seems like ALL the BFA kids at UBC (with the exception of the 2 in my cast) are sick right now. I'm just waiting for them to succumb.
Maybe I shouldn't have them make out so much...

You totally originally wrote suck instead of sick.
That's a Freudian slip if I ever saw one.
PS. Join facebook, I just put up this awesome pic of me, you, Simon and Derek (Derek, you still need to join too!)

Nancy, think positive: "I am healthy, I am healthy, ...".
Do things to "maintain your health", not to "not get sick". It sounds the same, but trust me, it makes a huge difference -- positive attracts positive, negative attracts negative.
